No Experience? No Problem.
You don’t need a Scouting background—just a sense of fun and a willingness to get involved. Whether you can give an hour a week or a day now and then, we’ll match you to a role that fits your interests and availability.
Training and Support
We’re here to help you succeed. Our flexible training programme, called the Learning Tree, is designed to support you every step of the way:
- Growing Roots – Essential training for new volunteers
- Branching Out – Optional modules for skill-building and development
- Regular training in Safety, Safeguarding, and First Aid
- All training is tracked via your own My Learning account
And yes—we’ll provide your uniform free of charge!

How to Get Involved
Step 1 – Log in to The Scouts Association portal and complete your volunteer sign-up.
Step 2 – Meet our team for an introduction and complete your DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
Step 4 – We’ll match you with the perfect volunteer role and support you as you get started!
